I have already shared a lot about my yoga retreat that I attended in Goa last month but I never got into the details about Aura aka a serene resort nestled close to Mandrem beach in Goa, the place where we spent our 7 days during the retreat.
So, here we are. Let me share with you all the highlights from my stay at Aura, the calm yoga spaces, some of the delicious organic food we had there, our cozy cottage amidst trees and the 24*7 helping staff.
This luxurious property is located near one of the most beautiful beaches in India. I was ecstatic when I took the first glimpse of sunset at Mandrem Beach. The beauty of this white sand beach is especially during the high tide time when the sea water rushes into the Mandrem River. I loved walking up to the beach, kayaking there and having yummy healthy food at Prana Cafe located just in front of the beach. This location is peaceful unlike most beaches in Goa, exactly what I wanted.
Far away from the mundane city life, I absolutely loved to spend my time in this wooden cottage with greenery all around. I used to wake up, make myself a cup of coffee and sit outside observing the birds and small frogs roaming here and there. The first look of our room was pleasant, equipped with all the necessary amenities. You will love the feel of staying at a luxurious cottage surrounded by nature.
Aura, Goa offers three categories of rooms, which range from Deluxe Cottage, Deluxe Double Room, and Suite with private pool. Tugged into a forest alike location, each room will promise you a luxurious stay filled with calm and peace.
The Yoga Space
This is the place where we used to rush to in the mornings for our yoga sessions with the hazy view of the hills and sounds of water and leaves. (my fav place)
to be honest, the FOOD was the main highlight for sure. We used to literally wait for our meal times every single day. It was super healthy and made with just locally available ingredients. I enjoyed all of the brown rice, veggies and smoothie bowls (#YUM!!!), and of course the savory waffles made with ragi for breakfasts. I can vouch for the delectable taste of its food.
We loved the food so much so that we had a smoothie bowl cooking workshop with the chef who cooked all the delicious food at Aura.
at the end, the feeling of calm that filled my mind after my stay at this eco-resort has to be one of the highlights.
This is my idea of heaven and of MY kind of trip.
After reminiscing each and every detail of this trip, I am feeling like making a list of places/hotels I want to visit. What places do you have on your list?
goal 2018: to travel SPECIFICALLY to healing resorts and write about it! how cool and calming would that be?
