Practice this hair care ritual every 15 days to get the trapped gunk out of your scalp and detoxify the roots of hair, leading to healthier & shinier hair.
Scrub Your Scalp..Gently!
Our pores in the scalp can get as easily clogged as pores on our face. Chemicals, dirt , oil .. all these get deposited on our scalp which obviously comes in the way of healthy hair growth. A nice, gentle hair scrubbing will remove all of these without having you go out to get expensive spa treatments done which again involve chemicals. You only need to have few ingredients and voila you are all ready to make your own scalp scrub.

1 tablespoon Epsom Salt
1 tablespoon Kaolin Clay (optional)
1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Aloe Vera Gel
Stir all the ingredients together. Massage your scalp with this mixture very gently for 10 minutes and wash off with water. The best part about epsom salt is it does not dry out hair and gets dissolved on massaging which makes it easier to remove from hair. It even has detoxifying properties and adds volume to hair.
Give Steam To Your Hair
Once you are done with the massage, your hair will have oil left since the scrub we made had oil in it. So, you don’t need to apply more oil. Now comes, hair steaming which stops hair breakage, makes hair soft, conditions scalp and retains moisture. And now that your pores are clear, it will be more beneficial.
- Dip your towel in a bucket of warm water.
- Squeeze out the excess water.
- Tie the towel around your hair.
- Sit back and relax.
Repeat this process as soon as your towel turns cold again. I usually do this 2 times.
Shampoo Your Hair
Just shampoo your hair as usual, of course with a natural shampoo. I recommend Ma Earth Botanicals Hair Cleanser.
Rinse Your Hair With Apple Cider Vinegar
So this thing is all over the internet and I could not stop myself from giving this method a go. Apple cider vinegar contains natural alpha-hydroxy acid, which gently exfoliates the scalp and hair, allowing for removal of dead skin cells and build up that can occur from sweat or chemical-laden hair products. This improves the appearance of the hair, reduces itchiness, and allows for better styling.
You’ll need :-
2 tablespoons Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
1 mug water
3 drops of any essential oil. I prefer cedarwood essential oil as it leaves behind a nice scent.
Mix all these together and pour this liquid over your scalp. Keep away from eyes. Let it sit for 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
ohh, don’t forget to light up lightly scented candle and turn on the volume of your favorite song while doing this.
also, if you don’t want to scrub your scalp, you can try this detox hair mask to remove the toxins from your scalp. Bentonite clay in this mask absorbs dirt, oil and chemicals when it comes in contact with water as it gets charged.
